My HP ENVY 5660 printer: I was low on color ink. I installed a new color ink cartridge. It's not printing the CYAN correctly. I've aligned several times. I've cleaned the cartridges several times. I had two color ink cartridges, installed both, same thing happened for each. I've unplugged. I cleaned the cartridge holder with a cotton swab. It still prints pinkish. This has never happened before. I've done nothing differently - just put in a new cartridge.

If your HP printer is not printing cyan color, here are some steps you can try to fix the issue.

 

  • Check the ink cartridges: Make sure the cyan ink cartridge is properly installed and has enough ink. If the ink level is low, try replacing the cartridge with a new one.
  • Run a printhead cleaning: Most HP printers have a built-in printhead cleaning tool that you can use to clean the printhead and unclog any blocked nozzles. You can usually access this tool from the printer's software or menu. Follow the instructions to run a printhead cleaning cycle and see if this fixes the issue.
  • Check the printhead alignment: If the printhead is not properly aligned, it can cause issues with color printing. Check the printer's software or manual for instructions on how to align the printhead.
  • Check the printer settings: Make sure the printer settings are configured to use the correct color profile and print in color. Sometimes, the printer may default to grayscale or black-and-white printing, which can cause issues with color output.
  • Try printing a test page: If none of the above steps work, try printing a test page to see if the cyan color is still missing.

This printer is the HP Envy 5660 - so the ink cartridges are tri-color and black - two. I've replaced with two different tri-color cartridges and they aren't printing correctly when alignment. CYAN blue is streaky or missing - and now yellow is missing. I've cleaned and I've aligned. I did notice a squeaky noise when the alignment is happening, and the printer head is moving. So something is happening. I've done all of your suggestions.
