After printing a page in full Color the message came that there was a problem with the color cartridge (303 Original HP)
This was also dispayed in the display of the printer. The color cartridge was indicated being the faulty one. After installing a new cartridge the problem was stil there. After a sofware update the message "communication problem with the cartrigde" showed up. The black cartridge ( 350XL original HP) was almost new and had been working without any problems. A new black cartridge was bought and installed and the problem was solved! If I Iook on the website it says that I should use the 303 Cartrigde. However the 350 was recommended as wel for this type of printer. It had been working. Anybody who has experienced that problem? Now I had to buy 2 new cartridges because the Printer was showing the wrong information and I have an extra Color cartridge which is not used fully. Also do I have a almost 350 XL cartridge which is still almost full.
Any suggestions?

As per the below information, the correct cartridge shows as is mentioned.
However, let's try a few steps from this document here and see how it goes.
Also, update the firmware for your printer.

Initially the cartrigde was not recognized. The display showed an error with the color cartrigde.
That's the one I removed and placed back several times without succes. Same message appeared.
Bought a new Cartridge(Color) and placed same. Still the same message.
After updating the software/firmware the "no communication" message appeared.
The Cartrigde ( black) had been working for some time without any issues.
After installing a new Black cartridge everything worked again.
I was fooled by the message on the display indicating that the color cartridge was faulty.
At the end I am having 2 Cartridges that are not empty. ( I could re-use the color one) but the black one is faulty
