HP DeskJet 3720 All-in-One Printer
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Every time I use my printer (Deskjet 3720), I have to clean the printheads a minimum of 4 times to finally get a decent quality.  I have to do print quality reports and it will always need cleaning.

I'm on the instant ink plan, I'm using the ink cartridges that were sent to me by HP.

Yes, the color ink cartridge could be defective if you have tried all the steps and the issue persists. Please reach out to the HP Technical Support team in your region regarding the replacement options.

@GrahamHadd, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Did you have this issue with the previous set of ink cartridges?

If the issue began after replacing the previous set/using this set of ink cartridges, it could be an issue with the current set of ink cartridges.

Try making a standalone copy in black and color to check the print quality. By this, we can conclude if the issue is with the black or the color ink cartridge.

For more info on resolving print quality issues, refer to Color or Black Ink Not Printing

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

Hi @kumar0307 ,

Sorry for the delay in the reply.

This wasn't an issue with the previous set of inks and making copies it appears this is an issue with the colour cartridge.  Particularly the magenta bleeding into every other colour.

Is it just a "contact and request a new cartridge" from here then?

Thanks
