Cyan not printing. Tried everything. Please help

After some effort, I managed to speak with a human from HP.  Note that I do not have any maintenance contract with HP other than Instant Ink for my OfficeJet 6954.  I had tried everything also.  My only very modest success came in swapping the yellow and blue cartridges, which caused the printer to refuse to function -- the cartridges were wrongly placed was its complaint.  But when I put them back, I briefly would get smidgens of blue where the yellow printed in the quality report.

Instant Ink repeatedly sent me blue cartridges, and my call was initially to tell them to stop doing that, as they are wasted on me.  But they eventually put me through to some sort of support staff.  This man told me that the print head was plugged up.  He said that I could find an HP-certified repair shop who could fix this, but that I would probably be better off just buying a new printer, and he suggested one of theirs.

But in the end, I had already purchased one from a different manufacturer, as my wife needs color printing.  I am content with black and white, so I will keep this one.  Meanwhile, I am considering what I might be able to do to clean the clogged print head -- maybe alcohol and a Q-tip?  I plan to research this before I try anything foolish.  Maybe I will be able to avoid trying anything foolish!

I typed in my message immediately below yours, but I don't know if it turns up as a reply to you, so I am using this space to mention it.
