Like the title says. Every time I power on the printer it prints a alignment page. Even after I scan the page as per instructions it still prints another next time I power on the HP Deskjet 2710e. Im not interested in any solution of unplugging cables and holding power buttons for 15 seconds. For the love of God why would you make a printer do this? On my old Canon it wouldn't print alignment pages unless you requested one. Absolute rubbish Im going through paper and ink every time I turn the printer on. Is there an option I can select in HP smart print to stop this. It makes zero sense. If this isn't fixable Im binning this printer and going back to Canon.

Hi @Craigcmd,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand your frustration with the continuous printing of alignment pages on your HP DeskJet 2710e printer.

Here are a few potential solutions you can try:

  • Ensure Proper Setup: Sometimes, improper setup during the initial printer installation can cause the printer to repeatedly print alignment pages. Reinstalling the printer software and ensuring all steps are followed correctly might resolve the issue.
  • Complete the Alignment Process: Sometimes printers continue to print alignment pages if the alignment process is not completed successfully. Make sure you follow any on-screen instructions to complete the alignment process fully. Usually, this involves placing the alignment page on the scanner bed and allowing the printer to scan it.
  • Check for Firmware Updates: Ensure your printer's firmware is up to date. Sometimes, outdated firmware can cause issues with the printer's functions, including continuous printing of alignment pages. You can check for updates through the printer's control panel or the HP website. Update the firmware on an HP printer
  • Restart the Printer: Try turning off the printer, unplugging it from the power source, and waiting for a few minutes before plugging it back in and turning it on again. This can sometimes reset the printer and resolve minor issues.
  • Check Printer Settings: Look through the printer's settings menu for any options related to alignment or print maintenance. Sometimes there's an option to disable automatic alignment printing or to indicate that the alignment process has been completed.
  • Inspect Paper and Cartridges: Ensure there are no issues with the paper being used and that the ink cartridges are properly installed and not low on ink. Sometimes alignment issues can be related to hardware problems.
  • Reset the Printer: If none of the above steps work, you can try resetting the printer to its factory settings. This should be done as a last resort since it will erase any custom settings you have configured on the printer.
