HP OfficeJet Pro 9018 All-in-One Printer (3UK84A#1H3)
macOS 11.0 Big Sur

I have a HP Officejet Pro 9010 series printer. Effective today, I am no longer enrolled in the HP Instant Ink program. My printer screen is stuck on "Your printer is no longer enrolled in HP Instant Ink. It will no longer be able to use HP Instant Ink Cartridges."

I pressed “OK” but the message does not go away, and I am not able to use my control panel.

I turned off the printer and restarted. The screen is still stuck.

I can print jobs, but I can’t use the panel. Is there a solution?

A number of other HP printer owners recently have had very similar issues with stuck printer screens.

I figured how to clear the screen by opening my HP app, opening the printer, then clicked “ok” as prompted.

@dgcole27517, Welcome to the HP Support Community! I’m here to help.

I understand the printer is stuck at this message. Open the ink cartridge access door, reinsert the ink cartridges and check if that helps.

Instant Ink cartridges will only work until the end of your last billing cycle after which you will have to use regular HP ink cartridges.

What do you mean "by opening the printer"?

My HP Officejet Pro 9018 printer has a door on the front side with hinge on the right,  and it opens from the left side. When I opened the door and then closed it again, the printer screen prompted me to select “okay”. When I did that, my screen cleared and the annoying message disappeared. I hope this helps.

When I close the ink cartridge door on my Office Jet Pro 9015, an HP  instant ink cartridge message  discussing recycling ink cartridges comes up and will not go away when you push the OK button.  I can still print from remote devices but cannot directly access the control panel on the printer.

I've tried: turning the Printer off, and resetting the ink cartridges to no avail

Someone mentioned opening  the HP App.  I did not have the APP but have downloaded it and it is not giving me a prompt to click OK on

When I open the door I can touch the HIDE button and see the normal control screen, but as soon as I close the door this same message  reappears and will not respond to touching the OK icon

HELP!

******Resolution*****

I found on another thread to try opening the paper tray and then click into another section so you can specifically click the "Home" button.  I tried this and once I closed the paper tray the message popped back up but the "OK" button worked correctly and cleared the message.

The instant ink system is taking over my printer.  I'd like to make copies, but the screen keeps getting stuck on instant ink messages and won't let me use it as a copier.  The printer also tells me it is not connected to my wifi WHEN IT IS CONNECTED TO MY WIFI AND PRINTING DOCUMENTS WIRELESSLY FROM MY LAPTOP.

I will cancel this instant ink account if these issues continue - we still need to use the printer to make copies on a regular basis, and it's very annoying to spend all this time "fixing" the printer.  I'd rather buy my ink at the store.

Baymacs, I found HP Instant Ink annoying, so I cancelled. I also received confusing messages on my printer and didn’t like a long-term commitment to their ink program. I can purchase printer ink from Costco at a reasonable price, and sometimes at Staples using my rewards, especially when Staples’ HP ink is on sale.
