My Envy 7855 color print jobs recently faded. I replaced the ink cartridge, but the problem persists. The Print Quality diagnostic page shows no Cyan and only faint Magenta. I've run all the printer diagnostics including cleaning the heads, plus re-installing the drivers. (Not easy as 7855 is out of warranty.) This happens when printing from two PCs, so it's not the computer.*
*I just acquired a new PC. It has no wireless card, so I'm not sure how it's seeing the printer. Bluetooth? I note this only because the printing issue started right after this. Coincidence?

HP Smart just sat there, so I downloaded the latest firmware update (July 2022) from the HP site. The installation identifies my printer, but says it's "Up to date". (Everything is grayed out and I can't select the printer to proceed anyway.)
Next idea?

Hi @Whizzer,
As you have already replaced the cartridge and also updated the firmware, this could be a hardware issue with the unit and may need repair.
I suggest that you contact HP Service Center in your location from this web link.
Note: Select your country from the dropdown, enter the city or postal code, select the product, change the radius, and click on search to locate the nearest HP Service center near your location.
Hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.

Thanks. As this model is now out of warranty, it may be a sign a new printer is needed.
I have new cartridges I'd like to use. Is there any way to look up which models use HP 64 ink? The look-ups seem to work the other way: tell me your model and I'll tell you the ink.

I have the opposite problem: no blue! 😊
And the Envy 7855 does seem past it's lifespan. One troubleshooting approach was uninstalling then re-installing the drivers. I got very nervous when the driver page appeared to show no drivers remained available.
At least I can print black, which is mostly what I use.
