HP ENVY Inspire 7920e All-in-One Printer

I have just bought and installed this printer, it printed the colour test page but I then printed something in black and white. Now I cannot select anything to print in colour - I have tried to follow the instructions below but nowhere is there any option to switch to colour. I am using Mac Sequoia 15.3

Check Printer Settings:

  • Open the document you want to print.
  • Go to the File menu and select "Print."
  • In the print dialog box, make sure that the printer selected is your HP Envy Inspire 7900e.
  • Look for a "Color" or "Color Options" setting. Ensure that it is set to print in color.

Printer Preferences:

  • Open the "System Preferences" on your Mac.
  • Select "Printers & Scanners."
  • Click on your HP Envy Inspire 7900e printer in the left sidebar.
  • Make sure that the default settings are configured to print in color. There might be an option called "Color Options" or similar.

I appreciate your troubleshooting efforts.

 

Let me suggest a few other steps to check this issue.

 

Perform the following tasks in the order given. Use the printer after each task to see if the issue is resolved.


Clean the ink cartridges

Check for ink smears on the back of printouts

Check ink cartridges

Very low ink levels, using non-HP cartridges, and rough handling can cause print quality issues.

Align the ink cartridges
