Hi @Adina7,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand you are getting the OXC4EB8000 error code on your HP DeskJet Ink Advantage 3835 All-in-One Printer usually indicates a firmware, hardware, or ink system failure. Here are some troubleshooting steps to try:
Step 1: Power Cycle the Printer
- Turn off the printer.
- Disconnect the power cord from the printer and the wall outlet.
- Remove all ink cartridges from the printer.
- Wait for about 5 minutes to clear any residual charge.
- Reconnect the power cord directly to the wall socket (avoid power strips).
- Turn on the printer (without inserting the cartridges yet).
- Once the printer powers up and stabilizes, reinstall the ink cartridges.
Step 2: Check for Paper Jams or Obstructions
- Open the printer and check for any paper jams or small obstructions.
- Remove any visible paper or debris carefully.
- Close the printer and restart it.
Step 3: Perform a Printer Reset
- Press and hold the power button for 10-15 seconds.
- Wait for the printer to restart.
Step 4: Update Firmware Update the firmware on an HP printer
- Go to HP's official website and check if there’s a firmware update for your printer.
- Download and install the update following the instructions.
Step 5: Clean the Printhead
- If the error persists, try removing the printhead (if removable).
- Clean the printhead contacts with a lint-free cloth slightly dampened with distilled water.
- Allow it to dry, then reinstall it.
Step 6: Factory Reset (If Error Persists)
- On the printer's control panel, go to Setup > Printer Maintenance > Restore Defaults.
- Select Restore Factory Defaults and confirm.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
