Thank you for noting that this conversation has been "archived"
Does that mean I can't reply back and make a choice which is the accepted solution?
I am conflicted as to which "one" of the more than 10 here is the best choice for others to follow.....as the HP people caused me to lose all my saved Print jobs...when the Printer (after the fix) automatically updated itself.
So between the new drivers, and auto-update I was informed by the phone support that unfortunately I lost all 209 print jobs I didn't have the money or paper, or time to print out before losing the printer to the Printer Supply error problem.
I would like to thank A._Gayathri properly with kudos and choice of an accepted solution, one that would lead the others to follow the same process....
But as you might be able to read, if this posts properly, that after the Cyan cartridge was installed, I ALSO found out that the Black (K) Cartridge was due to replacement to get the printer working again,
and this led to my having to contact HP by phone to get the Drivers replaced as they were in conflicting with each other.
Long message.... mostly posted to see if archiving the postings caused it to stop any new postings.....before I reply back to A_Gayathri again\
Thank you for posting your message here for me and everyone else to read Kuroi_Kenshi

Hello again @A_Gayathri
Sorry for my late reply!
So much happened! Can I fit it all in one posting?
I did want to make my many posts into a clear direction for those who have same problem and can follow your great instructions to FIX the problem!
We have to make a choice which of the many posts is the best one... maybe the one from 01-10-2025 11:27 AM- edited01-10-2025 11:28 AM?
That does contain a lot of suggestions. But if you read my responses afterwards, you'll see that I still had to go back again to get the missing Cyan cartridge delivered to me, current date and from Singapore not Malaysia
BUT, the Black Cartridge I had to replace as well once the Cyan was installed, is from Malaysia so that one worked.
Its not your instruction's fault, but what I had to do to modify your instructions afterwards,
and following your suggestion in a private message of 01-17-2025 04:10 PM
I don't want to confuse the other viewers with our messages crossing back and forth.
But I wanted to make it clearer what happened:
I contacted the HP directly.
They walked me through the same thing I did before with your recommendations in the message I'd like to say was "most helpful"---just took me longer to do.
What happened next was they had to replace my drivers as they were in conflict with each other.
So they did it for me! I had no idea how complicated it was to find them again on the HP site and download and install them in the Computer (not the printer, printer was up to date! as it auto-updated after I followed YOUR instructions)
But.....
Good news: is that the Printer is working again! 100%.... we tested all the test reports and print pages (one slight light grey in the all black test box, I'm ignoring it, not going to use extra ink cleaning nozzles until I see more than just "one" light grey line, since all Cyan, Magenta, and Yellow were perfect and the HP tech saw it all and approved it too, and my not needing to clean it more!
So the Printer is ALIVE!
It works again!
Bad news? They said all the 209 print jobs were "stored" on the drivers...and 100% of them were deleted and could never be found or replaced back there again for me to print out, slowly, day by day to not overload the Printer as they were the most colorful and LONGEST print jobs I collected over the past 3 years...
By my being forced to replace the Drivers in that long (hours long it took by phone and remote control of the computer!) replacement of the Drivers and testing them and joining back up to the Printer which was connected properly up to the WiFi so nothing needed to be re-installed there or work done to launch its connection with the Internet, it just was "NOT" being seen by the Computer..which kept trying to find the printer...that we all could SEE but the printer could not
Not until the new drivers were installed.
And once they were, that was when I was able to open the Print Queue again....only to discover instead of 209 jobs...
I had zero jobs.
Ok, I'm posting this, might edit it later on, I spent too long trying to write this out for you, A_Gayathri as you worked so diligently and stayed with me, helping me out till I managed to get everything purchased and installed only to find that driver issue persisted after we did everything else correctly.
Let me know if that choice of the older 01-10-2025 11:27 AM- edited01-10-2025 11:28 AM? was the best one for me to mark as "Accept as solution" so you also can get Kudos, (where are the little hands that are on the right side of screen as I was told they are there to click for your posts? I don't see them on my computer!! I would like to give Kudos to some of the other posts by you too! )
SO I didn't forget about you, just was a very complicated result... but as you can see except for losing all my print jobs....it was successful in that I can keep my older printer running just fine for a while longer!
Question: (yes a new one?) Isn't there anyway for us to "store" print jobs when we are fixing these problems or drivers or other things.... so we don't lose them?------I investigated this and all the choices given us for solutions....the suggestion that we (someone else said) choose Keep the Printed jobs on the list......!!! No no no
No, that is not what I'm asking! Keeping the PRINTED jobs on the Print Queue only takes up space... I wanted to KEEP the "UNPRINTED" jobs that are much more valuable to me, as I need them printed on paper but due to inflation and prices would not be able to afford to do it until 2025..... jobs I had since 2020 are ALL GONE!
Please HP!
There must be a better method here... with the drivers....it really can't be that complex to fix!)
Ok, posting this reply, too long a reply...before I lose the auto-saved version again..
I might come back and re-edit it...if I read something that is not as clear as it should be.
But Kudos! and big thank you to A_Gayathri for all of her help and assistance as I would NOT have had a working printer today if I could not do all she suggested and followed as far as I could go to repair the printer myself! (with her help)!

Hi @Screenname4help,
First, thank you so much for your patience and for taking the time to provide such a detailed update on your situation. It's clear that you’ve been through quite a journey to get your printer back in working order, and I’m so glad to hear that it’s now functioning again! I can only imagine how frustrating it must have been to lose all those print jobs, but your dedication to solving the problem is truly admirable.
Recap and Clarifications:
- Drivers Conflict and Solution: It sounds like the core issue was a conflict between the existing drivers on your system, which was preventing your computer from properly communicating with the printer. I'm happy to hear that after working with HP support and reinstalling the necessary drivers, your printer is now functioning properly and producing test prints correctly.
- Print Jobs Lost: Unfortunately, the loss of print jobs that were stored in the print queue due to the driver reinstallation is an unfortunate side effect. Print jobs stored in the print queue are temporary and get cleared once the drivers are reinstalled, which is likely what caused the deletion of the previous jobs.
Regarding the "Storing" of Print Jobs:
- You mentioned wanting to store unprinted jobs for later printing without risking their loss. I completely understand why this would be important, especially given how long you’ve been working on these tasks and the impact of inflation on printing costs. Unfortunately, the default behavior of print queues is that once jobs are printed, they are removed from the queue.
- There isn’t currently a built-in feature in most printer drivers that automatically stores unprinted jobs in a way that would protect them from being deleted when drivers or configurations are changed. However, here are a couple of suggestions to help avoid this in the future:
- Save Documents as PDFs: If possible, save your print jobs as PDFs before printing. This way, you can retain a digital copy of your work that can be reprinted whenever needed without worrying about the printer queue losing them.
- Backup Your Print Jobs: Some users have found that keeping a backup of their documents in cloud storage or on an external hard drive can be an effective way to store important print jobs. This would allow you to print again at a later date without worrying about the loss of files in the printer queue.
- Queue Management Software: Some third-party print management software might offer the ability to save print jobs before they are sent to the printer. These programs often allow you to queue jobs and release them for printing later, which can be useful for preventing data loss during troubleshooting.
- Use Print Spooler Settings: In Windows, you can adjust settings to prevent documents from being deleted after printing, but this typically applies to jobs that are printed and queued properly. However, this won’t protect unprinted jobs during driver changes or system issues.

Hi, did you ever get your printer to work? I am having the same issue now with cyan. Same error and I've done everything and nothing is working! I just deleted everything HP on my computer and hoping this works but I doubt it. It was all working fine until I changed my router.

Hi @Screenname4help,
Thanks for jumping in on this thread. I’m really sorry to hear you're dealing with that “Problem with supply system” error. 😞 I can totally understand how frustrating it must be, especially when everything was working just fine before the router change.
Since this thread was previously resolved, I'd love to dig a little deeper into your situation so we can get you back up and printing smoothly. 😊 Could you help me out with a few quick details?
Just to understand better:
What printer model are you using?
When you say you "deleted everything HP," did that include uninstalling the HP Smart app and printer drivers?
Have you tried any of the following so far?
Power cycling the printer and router?
Re-adding the printer to your Wi-Fi network via the control panel or HP Smart?
Cleaning the printhead or checking cartridge installation manually?
Is the error showing only for cyan, or are other colors affected too?
Did you change any network settings when switching routers (like switching to 5GHz, using a new SSID/password, etc.)?
Once I have a bit more info, I can tailor a proper fix for you.
Looking forward to your reply, we’ll figure this out together! 💪
Warm regards,
Kuroi_Kenshi
