I have an older hp envy photo 7855 printer. It’s older but not used much. The ink cartridge is over half full but printing very faint to not at all. I tried cleaning the heads 3 times. It got worse with each cleaning. What next? Or why is this happening maybe?

Ink dried inside ink cartridge and you get bad or no print at all, replace ink cartridges with new fresh ones. This will happen again if you will not be using your printer regularly.

Thanks, I didn’t think of that. But would the printer still register the cartridge being almost full?

Yes, they are full of dried ink but the printer doesn't know that.
