My printer keeps saying Printer Failure! I was trying to replace my cartridges and now it won't even go all the way out to do so? Is it tanked completely? I've already turned it off and on, dusted the ports...reloaded new color and black ink but got the code: 0x61000072

Hi @Mar-Martin,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
The error code 0x61000072 on your HP ENVY 4520 indicates a hardware issue related to the printer carriage, which is preventing the cartridges from loading properly. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and resolve the issue:
Check for Obstructions: Open the printer cover and check for any obstructions, such as small pieces of paper or debris, that may be blocking the carriage's movement. Carefully remove any obstructions you find.
Reset the Printer:
- Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
- Wait for about 1-2 minutes to allow the printer to completely power down.
- Plug the printer back in and turn it on.
- Check if the error message persists.
Inspect Cartridges and Carriage:
- Open the printer cover and carefully inspect the ink cartridges and the carriage assembly.
- Ensure that the cartridges are properly seated in their respective slots and that there are no visible signs of damage or misalignment.
- If you notice any issues with the cartridges or the carriage, try reseating the cartridges or adjusting the carriage manually (if possible).
Clean the Carriage Path:
- Sometimes, dust or debris can accumulate on the carriage path, hindering its movement.
- Use a soft, lint-free cloth lightly dampened with water to gently clean the carriage path.
- Be careful not to apply excessive force or use abrasive materials, as this could damage the printer.
Update Printer Firmware:
- Check if there are any firmware updates available for your HP ENVY 4520 printer.
- Firmware updates can sometimes resolve known issues and improve the printer's performance.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
