macOS 10.15 Catalina

My HP Officejet Pro 8028 All in One is now not printing Color. I have used HP ink throughout ownership and recently replaced all three color inks. The printer went through it process when placing in new cartridges. The printer asked to reaglian, once the reaglian page was printed I placed into scanner multiple times and each time the printer stated can not process agalin process.

The printer can print black ink and when I place all window applications check marks and radio buttons on for color printing the printer still won't print color.

When I go to update drivers the HP site continues to send me to download HP App, I already have the HP app and when I select the 'search and fix' drop down on the HP Website the website selects my correct printer but tells me the printer is offline. Though I am still able to print in black ink from my Macbook Pro laptop  OS 10.15.7

Hi @vandesandeinc,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP 8028 printer is not printing in color, there could be several possible causes. Here are some troubleshooting steps you can try.

  • Check ink cartridges: Ensure that the color ink cartridges are properly installed and have sufficient ink levels. Remove the cartridges and reinsert them to make sure they are securely in place.
  • Print settings: Verify that the print settings are configured correctly to include color printing. Check the printer settings on your computer or device and ensure that the color option is selected.
  • Clean printhead: The printhead might be clogged, which can result in poor or no color printing. Most printers have a printhead cleaning utility in their software or control panel. Run the printhead cleaning process to clear any blockages or dried ink.
  • Alignment and calibration: Some printers require alignment or calibration to ensure accurate color printing. Look for a printer utility software or option in the printer settings that allows you to align or calibrate the printer. Follow the instructions provided to complete the process.
  • Update printer drivers: Outdated or incompatible printer drivers can sometimes cause printing issues. Visit the official HP website and download the latest drivers for your HP 8028 printer model. Install the updated drivers on your computer or device and restart both the printer and the computer.
  • Test on different devices: Try printing a color document from a different computer or device to see if the issue is specific to one device or if it persists across multiple devices. This can help identify whether the problem is with the printer or the device.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.

Thank you.

I was able to get to the Cleaning of the heads function and now printing color, though I had to connect directly to the print via USB port [ computer to print, non wirelessly] to connect to app and HP website.

Some reason my computer sends printing instructions and prints wirelessly without issue, but the HP website and app cannot detect my HP 8028 via wireless/ bluetooth. Ports are on the numbers xxx.xx.1.25 and as mentioned in prints wirelessly. So there's an issue there wireless reading form website and app.

Any ideas.

Looked for updates but nothing know.
