Hi @Allie5205 ,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand you are facing white streaks or banding in black ink, despite changing cartridges and cleaning nozzles, which often indicate issues with the toner cartridge, transfer roller, or the printer's imaging drum. on your HP ColorLaserJet MFP M282-M285-AirPrint

Here are a few more steps to troubleshoot:

  • Print Quality Calibration: Run the printer's built-in calibration. Go to Menu > Device Maintenance > Calibration/Cleaning Print Quality Calibration. This can sometimes correct banding or streaking by recalibrating the alignment of colors and toners.
  • Cleaning the Imaging Drum: Even if it looks clean, residual toner or dust can cause streaks. If your model allows it, gently clean the drum with a dry, lint-free cloth or follow instructions in the printer’s manual for cleaning. Avoid touching the drum directly as oils from your fingers can damage it.
  • Check the Transfer Roller: The transfer roller might need cleaning or replacement. Dust and toner can accumulate on this component, causing print defects. This might require a professional if your printer model doesn’t allow easy access.
  • Use High-Quality Paper: Low-quality or heavily textured paper can contribute to streaking. Ensure you are using paper that is suitable for laser printers.
  • Perform a Full Printer Reset: Sometimes, a deeper reset can help clear any software glitches. Try disconnecting the power for a few minutes, then turn it back on and test print.

Unfortunately, I tried all these again and still have a white band. Are there any other recommendations?
