I have purchased this new HP deskjet printer 2338 last year August but I have not used it since then. Now When I connected the Printer with Power chord, Orange light was blinking. Later I checked in internet and removed the ink cartridge to check.
I can see the Copper contact strip is missing from both cartridge. When I received the product from amazon, ink cartridges were setup in the printer only. The Packet was teared within sealed box of Printer. I was not aware about the functionality of copper contact strip that time and how it works. In HP product page it shows my product warranty is expired in June 2022. I am really surprised how it expired in June as I bought on 23rd August 2021 from Amazon.
Now I have two questions -
1. How can I claim for warranty ? Because I have not used both cartridges yet. I have not even printed a single copy.
2. if I refill the cartridge or change the cover to replace new copper strip, will it work? Or I need to purchase new cartridge to use?

I understand you are facing an Ink cartridge issue with your HP DeskJet Ink Advantage 2338 All-In-One Printer. Not to worry I will help you to get a resolution to resolve the issue.
To assist better:
- Are you using Are you using genuine HP ink cartridges?
- Usually, Ink cartridges have a 2 years expiration date, so did you have a check with Amazon regarding the order?
- The electrical strip should be intact if it is removed the ink cartridge cannot be detected on the printer, so we have to replace the inks in this case.
- You may get your warranty updated, please refer to this document: HP PCs, printers - Dispute a warranty status
