I have an HP Deskjet 3755 running on Windows 10 that will not print in color. The black ink works fine. The cartridges are full and both are new. The printer is connected by USB. I have tried rebooting, reinstalling the driver, and using different paper but nothing seems to work. I recently moved and reconnected the printer to my computer but have not installed any new software or hardware. The printer worked before I moved. Thank you for any help you can give.

Hi @spiffywonderboy,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like you've already taken some good troubleshooting steps. Since the black ink is working fine, it indicates that the printer is physically capable of printing in color, and the issue might be software-related or with the color ink cartridge.
Here are some additional steps you can try.
- Check Ink Levels: Even though the cartridges are new, it's worth double-checking the ink levels through the printer software or control panel to ensure that the color cartridge is recognized and has sufficient ink.
- Clean Print Heads: Sometimes, print heads can get clogged, especially if the printer hasn't been used for a while or during a move. Most printers have a utility for cleaning print heads. You can usually find this option in the printer settings or maintenance section of the printer software on your computer.
- Align Cartridges: Some printers have an alignment process that ensures the cartridges are correctly placed and calibrated. This can also help resolve printing issues. Look for this option in the printer software or control panel.
- Check Printer Settings: Ensure that the printer settings on your computer are set to print in color. Sometimes, settings can accidentally be changed during software updates or reinstallation. Make sure "Print in Color" is selected in the print settings before sending a document to print.
- Update Printer Firmware: Check if there are any firmware updates available for your printer on the HP support website. Updating the firmware can sometimes resolve compatibility issues or bugs that might be causing the problem.
- Try a Different Computer: If possible, try connecting the printer to a different computer and see if it prints in color from there. This can help determine if the issue is specific to your computer or if it's a problem with the printer itself.
Hopefully, one of these steps will help resolve the issue and get your printer back to printing in color.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.

Hi Alden. Thank you for your reply. I have checked the ink levels and they are fine. I have also tried cleaning the cartridges and aligning the print heads. I checked the settings and the printer is set to print in color. I installed the printer using HP Smart as recommended so it should have the latest firmware. Unfortunately, I don't have another computer to try printing from. However, I did notice in my Windows device settings that under the printer there is a message saying "driver error." As I stated previously, I used HP Smart to install the printer so it should have the latest driver. I'm not sure why the printer still won't print in color.

Hi @spiffywonderboy,
Thank you for your response,
Since you've checked the ink levels, cleaned the cartridges, aligned the print heads, and ensured the printer settings are correct, it's possible that the issue lies with the driver or the printer software.
Here are a few additional steps you can try:
- Update or reinstall the printer driver: Even though you used HP Smart to install the printer, there may still be issues with the driver. You can try updating or reinstalling the driver manually. Go to the HP website, find your printer model, and download the latest driver. Then, uninstall the current driver from your computer's device manager and install the newly downloaded driver.
- Check for software conflicts: Sometimes, other software or applications on your computer can interfere with the printer's functionality. Try printing from a different software application or try printing a test page from the printer's control panel (if available) to see if the issue persists.
- Restart the printer and computer: This simple step can sometimes resolve various issues by clearing out temporary glitches. Turn off both your printer and computer, wait for a few minutes, and then turn them back on.
- Run Windows Troubleshooter: Windows has built-in troubleshooting tools that can help identify and fix common printer problems. Go to Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot, then select Printer and follow the prompts to run the troubleshooter.
If none of these steps resolve the issue, it's possible that there's a hardware problem with the printer itself.

I have tried updating and reinstalling the driver, restarting both the computer and the printer, and running the print troubleshooter but none of these worked. As far as software conflicts, is there any particular software that I should check?
