My HP ENVY 5660 printer started showing an "Ink Cartridges Problem" message regarding my black cartridge about a week ago. I have not replaced either cartridge in the last few months and currently have no replacement cartridges from the Instant Ink service.
I've searched the community messages and performed the steps of cleaning the contacts on both cartridges as well as the contacts on the printer itself. I've done a "hard reset" of the printer where I unplugged it for three minutes and during that time I held down the power button for 40 seconds.
The problem remains. The only thing I have not tried is to replace the black cartridge. I am an instant ink customer and to try this solution I need a black cartridge from the instant ink service.
How do I get a replacement cartridge from the instant ink service when the service cannot determine the status of my black cartridge?
