I got an HP Envy 4630 several years ago brand new. However, it has stayed in the box in our spare bedroom all this time because I didn't need it.
January 2022, I now need the printer. Set it up, updated the drivers, firmware, etc. Bought brand new fresh ink cartridges from HP.
Sent a word document to print and the entire document printed in light blue. Did troubleshooting, reset some things, deleted and reinstalled, etc. Printed the alignment, head cleaning, etc papers and sometimes they came out perfectly, other times only partially printed. But - all the colors were represented in very deep, rich color.
Followed all of the troubleshooting for my computer set up, an THINKPAD that's 1 year old. Adjusted the printer settings, reinstalled, etc.
Tried printing a different word document - light blue. Tried printing a PDF - light blue. Tried removing the color cartridge, won't print, same with removing the black cartridge. Returned the cartridges and got ANOTHER set from HP - same problem.
-Printer will not print anything but very light blue.
-alignment process works sometimes, others not
-cleaning the head - sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't
I've now spent at least 6 hours total over the past week trying to get a printer to print. My Canon printers are printing. I can print to the Kyocera printers at work.
None of the troubleshooting, help agents, support, etc are helpful and obviously, this is out of warranty despite just being removed from the box. Google shows me that there are MANY people complaining about this and other problems preventing them from using the printer. Is HP solution to continue filling up the landfills with useless electronics?
