My printer just started printing colors super dull even though I have plenty of ink, am using genuine HP ink and HP ColorLok paper. The sketchy thing is that when printing the Print Quality Diagnostic (page on the left), the cyan is dull, but when printing the Printer Information Report (page on the right), the color in the HP logo is normal and bright! How do I fix this? My sister's HP Envy started doing this last year and I kept having to remove/add the printer to fix it. I've already ran the Clean Cartridges tool several times and at this point it's just wasting my paper and ink 😒

Hi @duhteenuh,
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your printer!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
Try these steps:
Check Ink Levels:
- Verify that all ink cartridges are not empty or very low.
- Ink level warnings provide estimates for planning purposes. Replace cartridges if print quality becomes unacceptable.
Run the Cleaning Tool:
- Printers with a touchscreen or menus:
- On the printer, open the Settings or Setup menu.
- Tap Tools or Printer Maintenance.
- Tap on Clean Printhead or Clean Cartridges.
- Printers without a touchscreen or menus:
- Go to 123.hp.com or your app store to install the HP Smart app.
- Click the picture of your printer on the home screen to open Printer management options.
- Use the cleaning tool available in the app.
Run Additional Cleaning Cycles:
- If the page that prints after the first cleaning cycle has defects, the printhead might be badly clogged.
- Run up to two more cleaning cycles.
- Note: The cleaning page does not count against your pages printed for the month.
Align the Printhead:
- Printers with a touchscreen or menus:
- On the printer, open the Settings or Setup menu.
- Tap Tools or Printer Maintenance.
- Tap Align Printer.
- Printers without a touchscreen or menus:
- Go to 123.hp.com or your app store to install the HP Smart app.
- Click the picture of your printer on the home screen to open Printer management options.
- Select the option to align the printer.
Replace Cartridges:
- If you did not replace your cartridges before, replace them now with new Instant Ink cartridges.
Check and Clean the Cartridge Contacts:
- Remove the ink cartridges.
- Wipe the copper-colored contacts on the cartridges with a lint-free cloth.
- Clean the electrical contacts in the carriage with a lint-free cloth or swab dampened slightly with distilled water.
- Reinsert the cartridges into their color-coded slots.
- Ensure the cartridges are properly seated.
I hope this helps.
