HP J4680 printer prints double images where graphic images are present on page. I have replaced the ink cartridges, realigned several times, uninstalled printer driver, reinstalled printer driver and still have the same issue. I have tried the HP print doctor and their test page has a double shadow, if I use a test print from the printer itself the print is perfect. If I just print text from MS Word with no graphics on the page the text is perfect, if there is an image (jpeg or something else) on the page the image and text near the image has a shadow, text father up on the page is clear. If I print a postal mailing label (PDF) the whole label has a shadow. If I use our other HP 6800 printer, everything is fine. This HP4680 used to work great, then something changed.
Please help! I have wasted time and money trying new cartridges with no luck.

Krazy Toad,
Thanks for the reply,
I have tried your instructions 3 times and still have the same problem with the 4680 printer. I did have a some problems with your instructions at step 8 thru 11, for one I get 2 choices to delete the 4680 driver, I can remove driver only but not driver and package. Also you say to click "OK" or "Apply", Apply is grayed out and I am not able to click on it, but the driver does go away when I select "Remove driver only", the only thing I can do is to "Close".
I can still print just fine from our other printer which is a 6480 series printer. The 4680 only seems to print double only when graphic images are present. Plain text from MS word is just fine if no images are present. I have tried printing both USB and WIFI but no difference.
Here is a postal label example:
Thanks for trying to help me with this issue.

Update:
I turned off the anti virus firewall protection and ran your procedure again, I was now able to remove both "driver and package" in step 9, "Apply" was still greyed out, but that it had no affect on the outcome, still has the same problem.

6.) Open up the run command with the “Windows key + R” key combo.
7.) Type printui.exe /s and click Ok. (Note: there is a space in between “printui.exe” and “/s”)
8.) Click on the “Drivers” tab
9.) Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it Click on it and click Remove at the bottom
10.) Select Ok
11.) Select Apply and Ok on the Print Server Properties windows
12.) Close Devices and Printers
13.) Restart the computer and reinstall the printer driver using the Windows Built In driver and follow the onscreen Instructions

Try printing using the HP Smart App and let me know if that works

Please ensure the printer has the latest Firmware

Next assign a Manual IP address and then reinstall the HP Smart App
1) Obtain the IP address of the printer – You can print a Network Configuration page to obtain the IP address.
2) Type the IP address on your web browser to obtain the printer EWS page on your computer.
3) Go to "Network" tab - General - Select "Network protocols" - Select "Enable IPv4 only" (or similar) - Apply the settings.
4) Go to the “Network” tab – Click on “Wireless (802.11) – Then click on “Network address (IPv4)
5) Click Manual IP
6) If you see a Suggest a Manual IP Address button, click Manual IP address, and the Manual IP addresses are automatically filled out for you.
7) If your page does not have a button to suggest a manual IP address, type the IP address, subnet mask, and default gateway using the numbers shown in the report you printed.
