Hi, it says blue cartridge is empty - I reinstalled the new cartridge and it’s still saying cartridge is empty? I tried turning it on and off etc… and that hasn’t worked either!

Hi @GLW6,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand you are getting an error blue cartridge is empty Here are some steps you can try to resolve the issue with your HP OfficeJet Pro 9019/Premier All-In-One Printer:
Check Cartridge Installation:
- Ensure that the new cartridge is properly installed. Remove and reinstall it, making sure it clicks into place.
Clean Contacts:
- Turn off the printer and unplug it.
- Open the cartridge access door and carefully remove the blue cartridge.
- Using a lint-free cloth or cotton swab, gently clean the contacts on the cartridge and inside the printer where the cartridge connects.
- Reinstall the cartridge and close the access door.
Reset Printer:
- With the printer turned on, unplug it from the power source.
- Wait for about 60 seconds, then plug it back in and turn it on.
Check for Firmware Updates: Update the firmware on an HP printer
- Sometimes, a firmware update can resolve cartridge recognition issues. Check the HP website or the HP Smart app for any available updates.
Use Genuine HP Cartridges:
- Ensure that you are using genuine HP cartridges, as third-party cartridges might not be recognized properly.
Check Cartridge Compatibility:
- Verify that the cartridge is the correct model for your printer. Using an incorrect cartridge can cause recognition problems.
Perform a Printer Diagnostic:
- Use the HP Smart app or printer’s control panel to run a diagnostic check to see if it identifies any issues.
