Hello Team,

I am raising this request regarding the printer model selected above. We are experiencing an issue with print quality: the text and images are appearing very dull, faded, and faint on the page.

Could you please have someone look into this?

Hi @bp_hrushikesh_m,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

I hear that your printers in the provided documents, dull, faded, or light print is commonly linked to these causes:

  • Poor paper quality.

  • Paper that is too thick or too glossy and resists toner.

  • An almost empty print cartridge.

  • A damaged print cartridge.

  • Print settings that need adjustment.

  • A dirty paper path or pickup roller (model dependent).

Recommended HP troubleshooting steps:

Check and change the paper:

  • Use high-quality paper compatible with HP laser printers.

  • If the paper is too moist, thick, or glossy, replace it with fresh, dry paper or a smoother/matte paper.

Adjust print settings:

  • If the page is too light:

    • Set print quality to FastRes 1200 where available.

    • Turn off EconoMode.

    • Increase Print Density in printer properties/settings.

Clean the printer:

  • Run the printer’s Cleaning Page/Cleaning mode if available.

  • On some models, cleaning the pickup roller and paper path can help.

Check the cartridge:

  • If print remains faded after settings changes, the print cartridge may be almost empty or damaged.

  • Replace the cartridge if needed. HP recommends using genuine HP cartridges.

If the issue continues:

  • Print a test/configuration/diagnostics page if your model supports it.

  • If the problem persists after all steps, service may be required.

I hope this will help.

Take care and have a good day.

I'm an HP Employee.
