Is there a way to disable cartridge protection on this (HP D7400) printer. Original cartridges are no longer available.  I've been using generic cartridges for awhile now with no issues and all of a sudden it is telling me to install the original setup cartridges that came with the printer. I'd love to still be able to use this printer as it has always been reliable and perfect as a back up printer in my shop. Thank you!

Thank you. Not quite what I need. The cartridges were working fine, but the printer was updated and now it wants me to set it up with the original cartridges. The printer is old and those are long gone. New, HP brand cartridges are no longer available for this unit. (D7400) . Is there a way to bypass this error to continue to use this unit. Its been a great printer and very handy. I updated it because it stopped printing wirelessly and would not connect with a usb cable. Sad to see this one go, it has been far superior to any newer printers I have. Thanks again.

OK, the printer has been discontinued for so long, they no longer have support for it. Really, it was still a good printer before this ink thing. I really hate to fill up a landfill with it when it should still be able to work . Thanks again.
