I have HP deskjet ink advantage 2515 printer. I tried to use HP 678 ink cartridge with it as HP650(original) is not available in my region ,but it gave error of incompatible ink cartridge. I read on the HP forum that regional change is required inorder to accept the new cartridge. Kindly help me resolve this issue as soon as possible. Thank you.

Hi @Sanket5426 ,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand that you're facing an issue with your HP Deskjet Ink Advantage 2515 printer not accepting the HP 678 ink cartridge due to regional restrictions. Here are some steps you can try to resolve the problem:
Check Cartridge Compatibility: Make sure that the HP 678 ink cartridge is compatible with your HP Deskjet Ink Advantage 2515 printer. You can usually find this information in the printer's user manual or on the official HP website.
Update Printer Firmware: Ensure that your printer has the latest firmware installed. Manufacturers often release firmware updates that can resolve compatibility issues. Visit the official HP support website, enter your printer model, and download the latest firmware if available.
Reset the Printer: Try resetting your printer to clear any error messages. Turn off the printer, unplug it from the power source, and wait for a few minutes. Then, plug it back in and turn it on.
Check for Regional Settings: May I know if you have changed the region? If Yes then
the printer is not accepting the new region cartridges.
We need to perform a regional reset on the printer to resolve this issue.
The reset instructions are specific for your printer and performing those steps on a different printer may brick the device.
I've sent you a private message with reset instructions, follow the reset instructions to perform a full reset and re-initialize the printer.

Hi Gaya1239,
I haven't been able to resolve the problem. I have updated the printer firmware, i did the printer reset. The HP 678 ink cartridge is also compatible with the printer however it still doesn't accept new ink cartridge, i believe the printer requires region reset.
I have purchased the printer in Abudhabi and now I'm using it in India. The printer model is Deskjet ink advantage 2515. Kindly help me with the region reset procedure.
Thank you
Sank

Hi Gaya1239 ,
I just saw your personal message.
I have a Windows11 OS on a 64 bit processor. My printer is HP ink Advantage Deskjet 2515. I want to do region reset to India. I bought it in Abudhabi (now using it in India). The printers original ink cartridge is HP650, however HP678 is also compatible.I have installed HP full feature software on my pc. Printer is also connected to laptop with original ink cartridge in it. Relpy to the earliest.
Thank you
Sank
