My HP printer suddenly stopped accepting even genuine HP cartridges and keeps showing the error:

“There is a problem with the supply system. Try replacing affected cartridge with a different.”  The strange part is that the “replacement” cartridge I inserted is a real HP cartridge.

Before this happened, I had tried using a non-HP cartridge. When the error started, I replaced it with an authentic HP cartridge, but the printer still refuses to recognize it. I also tried reinstalling the previous cartridge and swapping them around, but nothing worked.

At this point, I’d like to revert back to using only genuine HP cartridges, but the printer still behaves as if there’s a cartridge or supply system issue. I’m starting to suspect this may be related to a firmware update or some kind of cartridge lockout.

How can I reset the printer, roll back firmware, clear the cartridge memory, or otherwise get genuine HP cartridges working again?
