Hi
I have a HP Officejet 8010 which is 15 months old and only printed 71 pages in total.
After replacing two ink cartridges with genuine HP ink, the printer now only prints in black and yellow.
I work in IT and use many HP printers in the office and completed the usual head cleaning and changing the ink cartridges again but it no avail.
I’ve seen others post similar problems but no solution to the issue, it seems the reliability of HP printers isn’t as it use to be and I will certainly stop recommending them.
Does anyone know of a possible solution?
Thanks

@GCP23, Welcome to the HP Support Community! I’m here to help.
I understand the print quality is not good and the printer is not printing in Magenta and Cyan.
Make sure you have tried the steps mentioned in this document - Black Ink Not Printing, Other Print Quality Issues
If you have replaced the ink cartridges and the issue persists, I'm afraid the printhead has gone bad. The printhead is non-removable in this model printer.
If the printer is out of warranty, I suggest you upgrade the printer. You may visit Hp Store to check the available printers.
Keep me posted for any other assistance.

Hi,
Thanks for your reply, however simply replacing the printer which is only 15 months old and printed 71 pages is not a solution. I work as a IT administrator and have installed many HP printers in my career and cant remember having had one fail in such a short period, which is obviously a manufacturing defect.
I’m sure no consumer would purchase a device if they knew it would fail shortly after the warranty expires, that device would not be ‘fit for purpose’. The Consumer Rights Act 2015 the clearly states that the life expectancy of a product should be a of a reasonable period not just with the 12 month guarantee.
I will be taking this up with HP.
regards
Mr Paul
