Hi @Deekshi7,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.
I see the message on your HP Envy 6131e printer screen: “Alignment Incomplete. The alignment process is not complete, so the printer’s print quality settings have been set to the default settings.” This means the printer tried to align the printheads but failed. Here’s how to fix it:
Steps to Resolve Alignment Failure on HP Envy Printers
1. Check Paper Type and Loading
- Use plain white A4 or Letter-size paper (not glossy or photo paper).
- Make sure the paper is loaded correctly and not curled or damp.
- Adjust the paper guides snugly against the stack.
2. Clean Printhead and Cartridges
- Open the HP Smart app or printer menu.
- Go to Tools > Clean Printhead.
- Run the cleaning cycle and then retry alignment.
3. Check Ink Levels
- Low ink can cause alignment failure.
- In HP Smart, check Supplies Status and replace any low or empty cartridges.
4. Remove and Reinstall Cartridges
- Power off the printer.
- Remove both cartridges.
- Clean the electrical contacts with a lint-free cloth slightly dampened with distilled water.
- Let them dry and reinstall.
5. Update Firmware
- In HP Smart, go to Printer Settings > Advanced Settings > Tools > Printer Updates.
- Install any available updates.
6. Retry Alignment
- From the printer’s control panel or HP Smart app, select Align Printer.
- Print the alignment page and follow the on-screen instructions.
