We do see this question on occasion --
My guess is that you are seeking a method to bypass the cartridge security that prevents the use of non-HP chipped cartridges.
The cartridge security mechanism that prohibits use of non-HP chipped cartridges is called "Dynamic Security".
Cartridge Protection -- whether ON or OFF -- is not related to Dynamic Security
Cartridge Protection does not impact the Dynamic Security restrictions placed on the printer.
Cartridge Security is NOT a key to unlock Dynamic Security.
Different animals.
That said, Cartridge Protection is a "real thing" and does provide a particular kind of protection for your ink cartridges.
Open your Browser > Type / enter the Printer IP address into URL / Address bar
Tab Settings > Supplies > Supply Settings > Cartridge Protection = OFF or ON
The Cartridge Protection feature permanently protects cartridges for use in only one fleet of products or product to help prevent theft.
If, after cartridges have been protected, they are moved to a device outside the fleet (fleet based) or to a different printer (printer based), these cartridges will be identified as protected and will have to be replaced to continue printing.
Cartridge Protection is useful in a work environment to help deter ink cartridge thieves.
Note:
When you turn on this feature, all cartridges installed in the printer will be protected. However, if you turn off this feature again, these cartridges will remain protected. Only cartridges installed afterwards will not have cartridge protection enabled.

HP Printers - Dynamic Security Enabled Printers
Excerpted from the document
“HP printers are designed to work with original HP ink and toner cartridges. As is standard in the printing business, HP printers use a process to authenticate cartridges. In certain HP printers, this authentication process includes dynamic security measures. Dynamic security relies on the printer’s ability to communicate with the security chips or electronic circuitry on the cartridges. HP uses dynamic security measures to protect the quality of our customer experience, maintain the integrity of our printing systems, and protect our intellectual property.”
Dynamic security
Dynamic security equipped printers are intended to work only with cartridges that have new or reused HP chips or electronic circuitry. The printers use the dynamic security measures to block cartridges using non-HP chips or modified or non-HP electronic circuitry. * Original HP cartridges that retain the original HP chip or electronic circuitry enable the refilling, reuse, or remanufacturing of the cartridge and are unaffected by dynamic security.
Non-HP ink cartridge use (Firmware Update)
Updates have been released to correct issues in certain affected printers - only as listed
