@Greatgrandkids4, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
To lighten or darken the print output on your HP LaserJet Pro MFP M148fdw, you can adjust the print density settings. Here's how to do it:

Method 1: Using the Printer's Control Panel

  1. On the printer's Home screen, press the Setup button (gear icon).
  2. Navigate to System Setup > Print Quality.
  3. Select Adjust Density.
  4. Use the arrow keys to increase or decrease the toner density.
  5. Press OK to save the changes.

This will affect all future prints until changed again.

Method 2: From HP Software on Your Computer

If you're printing from a Windows PC:

  1. Open the document you want to print.
  2. Click File > Print, then select your HP LaserJet Pro MFP M148fdw.
  3. Click Printer Properties or Preferences.
  4. Go to the Paper/Quality or Advanced tab.
  5. Look for Print Density or Toner Density settings.
  6. Adjust the slider to darken or lighten the print.
  7. Click OK and then Print.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
