If your HP Envy 4520 printer has stopped printing in color or on both sides of the paper (duplex printing), you can follow these troubleshooting steps:

 

Fixing Color Printing Issues:

Check Printer Settings:

  • Open 'Printers & Scanners' in Windows.
  • Select your HP Envy 4520 printer.
  • Click 'Printing Preferences'.
  • Under the 'Basic' tab, set the 'Color Mode' to 'Color'.

Check Ink Levels:

  • Ensure that the color ink cartridges have sufficient ink. Replace cartridges if necessary.

Clean Printhead:

  • Use the printer software to perform a printhead cleaning to ensure no clogging is occurring.

Fixing Duplex Printing Issues:

Verify Duplex Option:

  • Ensure that a duplex unit is installed and the feature is enabled.
  • Open 'Printer Properties'.
  • Click 'Device Settings'.
  • Under 'Installable Options', ensure 'Duplex Unit: Installed' is selected.
  • Click 'Apply', and then 'OK'.

Set Up Two-sided Printing:

  • Go to 'Printing Preferences'.
  • Under the 'Basic' tab, for the two-sided printing option, select 'Flip on Long Edge' or 'Flip on Short Edge'.
  • Click 'OK' and try to print again.
