Microsoft Windows 11

Installed HP original Cartridge brought from BestBuy 5months ago.  The HP Smart settings show only 240 pages printed using this cartridge.   This cartridge should have printed approx. 1000pages.

It sounds like you're experiencing a common issue with toner cartridges, especially if you're using an original HP cartridge. Here are a few steps you can try to troubleshoot the "toner low" message:

Check Cartridge Installation: Remove the cartridge and reinstall it, ensuring it's seated correctly.

Reset the Printer: Sometimes, resetting the printer can help. Turn it off, unplug it for a minute, and then plug it back in and turn it on.

Print Quality Settings: Go to the printer settings and check if the print quality is set to a mode that uses more toner (like “Best” quality). Changing it to “Draft” can help conserve toner.

Update Firmware: Make sure your printer’s firmware is up to date. Sometimes, updates can resolve issues with toner detection.

Toner Reset: Some printers have a toner reset option in the settings. Check if yours does and try resetting the toner count.

Check for Toner Clumping: Gently shake the cartridge side to side to redistribute the toner. This can sometimes help if the toner has settled unevenly.

I tried resetting and reinstalling thr cartridge, but it still says empty cartridge
