Hello HP Community,

I am currently facing an issue with my HP DeskJet 2620 printer. The printer was originally purchased in Dubai, but I am now using it in Sri Lanka. I do not have the original ink cartridges with me, so I bought the compatible ink cartridges for the South Asian region (Ink Cartridge 680).

However, when I inserted the new cartridges, the printer displayed an error message saying, "Incompatible ink

cartridge."

Hi @Praneeshan112,

Welcome to the HP Support Community

I'd like to help!

I understand you moved and the printer is not accepting the new region cartridges.

We need to perform a regional reset on the printer to resolve this issue.

The reset instructions are specific to your printer and performing those steps on a different printer may brick the device.

I've sent you a private message with reset instructions, follow the reset instructions to perform a full reset and re-initialize the printer.

To access your private messages, click the private message icon on the upper right corner of your HP Support Community profile, next to your profile Name or simply click on this link.

I hope this helps! Keep me posted.

I notified the moderator of the problem.

Changing the region code can be difficult as described here.

When an agent contacts you ensure that the agent is familiar with the OS you are using. If the agent is in a different time zone try to get one in your time zone. If that is not possible you may need choose the best time to make a contact.

You may need WhatsApp to work through the region reset procedure.  You will need all your old cartridges and the new ones.

Thank you for using HP products and posting to the community.
