I buy ink 65 and use a couple times then go back maybe 6 months later and the ink is depleted and no good....why doesn't the ink last and how can I make it last longer

I understand your concern. If the printer is not used for a couple of weeks, the ink gets dry and the print quality will be affected.

You may remove the ink cartridges and store them in an air-tight container in such a scenario.

 

  • Check the print settings on the computer. To save ink, print in Draft mode. Printing in Best and normal modes consumes more ink.
  • Printing photos consume more ink than printing documents/text on a regular paper.
  • Replace the empty ink cartridge with a HP regular/XL ink cartridge for better results.
