When you receive a message to register your new HP 62 ink cartridge before using it in your HP 5660 printer, it may involve ensuring the cartridge is properly recognized and authenticated. Follow these steps to address the issue:

 

  1. Install the Cartridge Properly:

    • Open the cartridge access door on your printer.
    • Wait until the carriage is idle and silent.
    • Ensure that the ink cartridge is correctly seated in its respective color-coded slot and clicked into place.
  2. Verify Cartridge Authenticity:

    • Make sure your printer is connected to the internet through Wi-Fi or a wired connection.
    • Test the network connection to ensure it is stable.
