Hi @Dianev1,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

I understand you’re experiencing multiple printer issues — including blue screen errors, the printer going offline, and now a message asking for newer cartridges even though the cartridges are full. Let’s go through a few steps to check what could be causing this.

Power reset the printer
Turn the printer off, unplug the power cord from the printer and wall outlet, wait 60 seconds, then plug it back in and power it on.
This clears temporary hardware and firmware glitches that can trigger cartridge and offline errors.

Check cartridge seating and contacts
Open the cartridge access door, remove both cartridges, and reinsert them firmly until they click into place.
Make sure there is no protective tape left on the cartridges and that the contacts are clean and not damaged.

Restart the computer and clear the print queue
Restart your computer to clear any stuck print jobs that may be forcing the printer into an offline state.
After restarting, open the printer queue and confirm there are no pending or paused jobs.

Set the printer as default and disable “Use Printer Offline”
Open Devices and Printers, right-click your printer, and select “Set as default printer.”
In the same menu, ensure “Use Printer Offline” is unchecked so the system sends jobs correctly.

Verify printer status in HP Smart or printer settings
Open the HP Smart app or printer software and confirm the printer status shows “Ready” or “Online.”
If the app shows a cartridge error, remove and reseat the cartridges once more while the printer is powered on.

Check for cartridge compatibility or firmware block
Confirm the cartridges are compatible with your printer model and region.
Some firmware updates require original or compatible cartridges; reinstalling the cartridges after a power reset often resolves false warnings.

Run printer diagnostics
From HP Smart or the printer software, run the built-in Print Quality or Cartridge Diagnostic tool.
This helps identify whether the issue is cartridge-related, driver-related, or caused by corrupted settings.

Confirm network stability
Since the blue wireless light is solid, the printer is connected, but restart your router once to refresh the network connection.
After the router restarts, power cycle the printer again and check if the offline status clears.

I hope this helps.
