HP LaserJet Pro M118dw

I have a HP LaserJet Pro M118dw printer and the grayscale tones will not print evenly. It doesn't seem to capture any of the subtlety of the original. Any ideas?

Welcome to the HP support community.

I understand that you are getting print quality issues, I am glad to assist you.

Print a cleaning page

  • Cleaning the printing mechanism and printing path inside the printer might resolve issues like repeating dots, fuzzy print, or smeared toner.
  • Print a cleaning page.
  • On the printer control panel, press the Setup button.
  • Open Service, and then Cleaning Page.
  • Load plain letter or A4 size paper when prompted, and then press the OK button.
  • A Cleaning message displays on the printer control panel. Wait until the process is complete. Discard the page that prints.
