@aardvark5, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding Supply System Problem on HP OfficeJet Pro 7740 Printer!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

If you encounter a "Supply System Problem" message on your HP OfficeJet Pro 7740, it indicates there may be an issue with the printer's supply system. Let's follow these steps to resolve the problem:

Confirm Installation of Genuine HP Cartridges:

  • Ensure that the cartridges installed are genuine HP cartridges. Non-HP cartridges may not work correctly with your printer.

Re-seat the Cartridges:

  • Open the ink cartridge access door.
  • Remove the ink cartridges and reinsert them firmly into their respective slots.
  • Ensure that there's good electrical contact between the cartridge and the printer.

Clean Electrical Contacts:

  • Clean the electrical contacts on the cartridges and the printer using a lint-free cloth slightly dampened with distilled water.
  • Allow the contacts to dry completely before reinserting the cartridges.

Restart the Printer:

  • Turn off the printer, wait for a few minutes, then turn it back on. This can sometimes reset the supply system.

Replace the Problematic Cartridge:

  • If the issue persists, replace the cartridge indicated in the message. Even though the cartridges are new, they could still be faulty.

Hope this helps!

Take care, and have an amazing day!
