Welcome to the HP support community.
I understand that you are getting printhead issues, I am glad to assist you.
Clean the printhead
- Load plain white paper into the tray.
- On the printer control panel, swipe the display to scroll to Setup, and then touch the Setup icon
.
- Swipe the display to scroll to Printer Maintenance, and then touch Printer Maintenance.
- Touch Clean Printhead.
- A test page prints.
- Examine the test page.
- If the print quality is unacceptable, touch Clean Again to continue the next level of cleaning. If necessary, repeat these steps for the third cleaning cycle.
- NOTE: If the printhead is badly clogged, it might require another cleaning cycle. If so, wait 30 minutes before you perform all three levels of cleaning again.
- If the print quality is acceptable, touch Done.

I've went through all of those steps with both of the print heads and different ink cartridges. it still performs exactly the same with both printheads. there's no difference between the two. Is it possible that the mainboard or firmware is the problem. If so, I have been researching parts for the printer and they are three times the price of the printer itself. The reason I wanted to repair the printer was not just to save money on a new printer but, the idea of adding more waste to the landfill and besides, everything else on the printer works well. The idea that the logic board is around $600.00 is insane. I can't believe that there has been massive innovation that a standard board isn't available at a reasonable price. Thank you for your help but at this point even if I wanted to go to a repair shop(if there is one that does tis type of repair) it would probably be twice the the price if not more than to go ahead and replace it.
