We received a new printer (HP OfficeJet Pro 9010e) for Christmas along with some replacement ink. We really liked all the features the printer had, and it was running smoothly until it ran out of ink. I recently tried to install new yellow and cyan cartridges only to have them say they were incompatible.
After turning off the cartridge protection setting, powering off and reinstalling the cartridges, and then performing a factory restore (which only succeeded in the printer now saying the cartridges were rejected), we can find no way to use the completely full, brand new cartridges purchased for us.
Aside from purchasing new ink, which I don't want to do (and I CERTAINLY won't want to be giving HP any more of my money for these shady business practices), is there any solution to be able to use the ink we already have? I am about ready to give up and tell everyone I know to never purchase an HP product because they are making it impossible for anyone to use any ink other than their own.
Thanks!

Hi @envy5530ver,
Welcome to the HP Support Community
I'd like to help!
You may refill your cartridges or use remanufactured cartridges, but you may run into problems. HP will not guarantee the functionality of those ink cartridges.
There are many cartridges in the market which is refilled and sometimes the chip is not configured to work with the printer. You need to contact the cartridge manufacturer and find out why it's not working. Try a different cartridge supplier and check if that works.
However, try the steps from this document and see if that helps.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
