I have an HP Envy 5052. I have replaced the cartridges twice now with genuine HP 65. The printer does not recognize them. I put the empty cartridges back in and it does recognize those. I’ve cleaned the contacts, reset the printer and made sure it was updated. Hard to believe that I have received two defective cartridges in a row, but since the old ones are recognized, I’m believing that may be the case. Anybody got experience with this problem?

Troubleshooting Ink Cartridge Recognition Issues with HP Envy 5052
It sounds like you're facing a frustrating issue with your HP Envy 5052 printer not recognizing genuine HP 65 cartridges. There are several steps you can take to try and resolve this problem:
- Check for Updates: Ensure your printer firmware is updated to the latest version. Firmware updates can sometimes resolve recognition issues.
- Clean Electrical Contacts: Although you have already cleaned them, it's important to use the right technique. Clean the electrical contacts on the cartridges and in the printer using a lint-free cloth dampened with distilled water. Avoid touching or cleaning the printhead nozzles directly as this can damage them.
- Cartridge Installation: Make sure the cartridges are installed correctly. Remove and reinstall them to ensure proper seating.
- Reset Printer: Performing a hard reset can sometimes solve cartridge recognition issues. To do this:
- Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
- Wait for about a minute, then plug it back in and turn on the printer.
- Check Cartridge Integrity: Inspect the cartridges for any visible damage. Sometimes, even genuine cartridges can be defective. If possible, try using another set of genuine HP 65 cartridges.
Hope this helps!
Take care, and have an amazing day!

This did not help at all. As stated in the original post I have done these things you have asked me to do! I did not state I checked cartridge integrity but that is kind of a given when you have installed and removed it multiple times. Your reply restates most everything I said I did in original post. This is a very poor example of HP support! Please somebody throw something at me besides what I have already tried. Thanks.
