Edit: It looks like they (may have...) have updated software in the printers that makes it impossible to use any ink that does not have the "Regional code" on the chip. That is what one of the support people linked me as a troubleshooting question... (not yet confirmed)
This issue looks like it has happened to hundreds of others. I have gone through all the trouble shooting. I have tried 3 different cartridges and ordered another from Amazon. None are working. My printer is out of warranty. I will just by an Epson if HP truly has made it impossible to use off brand inks. That is a real fast way to lose long time customers.

Hi,
Can you see Z10 listed on your newly purchase ink cartridges or any other region mark?
https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c05318138
On your printer screen click the ink droplet icon and it will show current ink levels. Click the K symbol which will bring up the list of supported cartridges. Do the supported cartridges list include the -Z10 for the printer or any other value set for your printer?
Click the Yes button to reply that the response was helpful or to say thanks.

I have a HP 8710 All in One Printer and I buy the outrageously priced HP ink cartridges for that reason. It was a nightmare EVERY time I changed cartridges with the remains. I now still have the same problem with the HP cartridges and I've done all the corrective fixes in the tool box. Still NO fix with a full HP cartridge and lots of work to do!
