I bought cartridges from Costco some time ago so I had a backup since I live in a rural area.  I inserted one cartridge and the printer says it is an old version and now the printer won't work.  The number is exactly the same as the cartridge I took out. I'm reading about an HP Time Bomb but have no solution to how to use my cartridges that cost me over $100.

Hi @JanetB0924,

Welcome to the HP Support Community

I'd like to help!

  1.  May I have the exact model name of the product? Refer to this document for steps to find the product details. Do not share any of your personal information such as serial, phone number, email ID, etc.
  2. Could you share the exact error?

Keep me posted.

the error says "The indicated cartridge is an older generation cartridge that does not work in your printer. It can still be used with some older printer models.

Printer is HP OfficeJet Pro 8715

Cartridge is 952XL - L)S61A - Cyan

My message should have said L0S61A

Please look for a private message from me requesting additional information. Keep in mind not to publicly post personal information (serial numbers and case details).

If you are unfamiliar with how the Community's private message capability works, you can learn about that here.

Hope this helps!
