Hello,
there is a big problem with the ink consumption of my HP printer.
Last days the ink cartridge black was empty and blue and red ink cartridge were filled with low level, but there was no notice to change the red and blue ink cartridge from the printer. The yellow ink cartridge was just changed by new one and was so quite new (complety filled).
The procedure was the following:
I changed the black ink cartridge, afterwards the printer performed automatic procedure (with printer head cleaning etc.) to install the new ink cartridge. Directly after the black ink cartridge was finally installed, the printer informed, that the blue ink cartridge is now also empty. Because of the low level of the red ink cartridge I changed at same time the blue and red ink cartridge. The printer went back the automatic procedure for new cartridge with printer head cleaning etc. After this produce (change black ink cartridge in frist step und change blue and red ink cartridges in second step) the new yellow ink cartridge was drained for around 20 % (as visibled on the printers screen) only for the installation process of new cartridges in different colours!
From my side of view it is a very unreliable procedure and extreme waste of extreme expensive ink colour.
Is there any possiblity to avoid the printer head cleaning and waste of ink colour in case of new installation of other ink colours?
Many thanks in advance!

The Officejet Pro 9010e printer has separate ink supplies and printheads. When a cartridge is replaced the printer needs to go through a priming cycle to remove air from the plumbing. This process will use some ink in all the supplies.
The servicing cannot be disabled. The best option is what you did in the second case, check the ink levels and replace all the nearly-depleted cartridges at the same time.
