The ink that comes in the box with the new HP Smart Tank 60001 printer, is it dye or pigment ink?

Whichever it is, if I'm refilling the tank with the other type, do I need to purge the original ink from the tank?

If so, how?

The HP Smart Tank 60001 printer comes with pigment-based black ink and dye-based color inks. If you're considering switching ink types, it's important to note that pigment and dye inks should not be mixed over an extended period, as they have different properties and cleaning cycles.

 

 

HP does not provide official documentation on refilling the ink tanks of the HP Smart Tank 60001 with a different type of ink. If you are considering switching from pigment ink to dye ink (or vice versa), HP does not offer guidance on purging the original ink from the tank before refilling.
