Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

When printing 4x6 photos on HP glossy photo paper the high saturation areas, particularly black, beads up.  An entire photo can have numerous areas that have this but the darker and higher the saturation the more obvious it is.  Ink does dry but the image is unsuitable due to all the 'ink beads' and the areas around them lacking the correct coloration.

I have set the paper type to Photo Paper (no glossy or matte distinction exists to pick) and have used both Best and Normal image quality.  Pulling the dedicated black cartridge was a suggestion in other posts but my printer will not operate if that is removed so it doesn't help here.

I didn't want to burn through ink and paper experimenting with different selections before checking to see if anyone has seen this or recognizes the issue and has a first hand solution.  Thanks in advance for your help.

Thanks but what you suggested are just basic use instructions. In my post I detailed a specific problem and what I already did to try and resolve it. Can you speak directly to the issue I raised in the post please?

Does this happen only with a particular photo?

Try a firmware update: https://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c02919168

Also, if you could send a picture of the printed photo you mention.

Thanks 🙂
