The color ink isn’t working and the black ink doesn’t work very well. I’m not sure what to do. Thank you.

Hi @ChiliSeed

Welcome to the HP support community.

I understand you're experiencing an issue with your HP device, and I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. I'm here to help you today.

If your HP DeskJet 2755e is experiencing issues with both color and black ink, here are some troubleshooting steps you can try:

Check Ink Levels:

  • Make sure the color and black ink cartridges are sufficiently filled. You can check ink levels through the HP Smart app or the printer's control panel.

Reinstall Cartridges:

  • Remove the ink cartridges and then reinstall them. Ensure they click into place securely and that any protective tape has been removed.

Clean the Printhead:

  • Use the printer’s built-in printhead cleaning function:
    • Open the HP Smart app, select your printer, and look for the option to clean the printhead.
  • You can also manually clean the printhead:
    • Remove the cartridges and use a lint-free cloth lightly moistened with distilled water to clean the printhead contacts.

Print a Test Page:

  • Print a test page to check if the issue is resolved. You can do this through the HP Smart app or the printer’s settings.

Align the Printhead:

  • After cleaning, run the printhead alignment process:
    • This option is usually available in the printer settings or through the HP Smart app.

Use Genuine HP Cartridges:

  • Ensure you are using genuine HP cartridges, as non-HP cartridges may not work properly and can cause issues.

Update Printer Drivers:

  • Make sure your printer drivers are up to date. You can download the latest drivers from the HP website.

Check for Firmware Updates:

  • Check for any firmware updates using the HP Smart app or the HP website.

Reset the Printer:

  • Turn off the printer, unplug it for a minute, and then plug it back in and turn it on to reset any temporary issues.
