Hi,

I bought my printer in India and was using HO 678 cartridges in India. Now I have moved to Germany and brought the printer with me. HP 678 cartridges are not available in Germany and I found out that the compatible cartridges in Europe were HP 301. I bought the same and tries installing the black and coloured cartridges but got the error that the "Ink cartridges are not not compatible." Can someone pleas help on what can be done here? I do not want to buy a new printer.

Thanks

Does anyone has a clue on how to get a response or get In touch with HP support regarding this issue?

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

We'll have to do a region reset for you to use the Printer in Germany.

To do a printer region reset you need to meet the following conditions:

1. The printer should be connected using a printer USB cable to the computer.

2. You need to have the printer full feature software installed on your computer.

3. You need to have all the cartridges either from the region from where the printer was purchased originally or the new region to which you want to reset it to.

Please do let us know.

Hi,

Thanks for the response. I have all that ready. What are the next steps?

HP Recommended

Great 🙂

•Open the printer queue in Print & Fax, and then click Printer Setup.

•Click the Utility tab.

•Click Open Printer Utility.

•De-select the printer to reset. Click another printer name (if a second printer is installed) or click the Printers folder.

•Hold down the Option key, and then click to reselect the printer to reset. Continue to hold the Option key until the Set New Region window opens. This might take several seconds.

or if you have the HP Smart App on the Computer, do this:

HP Smart via USB:
Launch HP Smart and click the product ink levels to open the Supported Cartridges window.
Hold down the CTRL and SHIFT keys and then right-click on the empty area to the right of the ink levels.
The Set New Regions window opens.

Take a screenshot of the screen with the values and send it to me in private.
