I have had the Instant Ink Service since February 2017. I recently had to replace my cyan cartridge. I put in a new cartridge & got an error message that said that the contents of the cartridge had been depleted. Since I knew it was new, I tried it several times. Fortunately, I had another new cyan cartridge and used that. Do the cartridges expire? I still have two new magenta cartridges and will have to replace the magenta one shortly. I don’t see a date or anything on the cartridge.
Do I just send the “depleted” cartridge to be recycled?

It could just be defective in this case. Yes. you can send the defective/depleted ink back.
