So I have an HP 2600 series inkjet printer and have leftover cartridges but haven't paid my instant ink bill yet. I did sign up for the all in one subscription getting a new printer and new instant ink account. Shouldnt I be able to use the ink since I started a new account and subscription?

Hi @Nponk,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

Since you started a new Instant Ink account and subscription, you may still encounter limitations using leftover cartridges from your previous subscription. HP Instant Ink cartridges are subscription-specific and tied to your active plan. Here's what might be happening.

  • Instant Ink Cartridges Lock: The leftover cartridges from your old subscription could be locked if you haven't paid your previous Instant Ink bill. These cartridges are disabled once your subscription lapses or is canceled until the outstanding balance is settled.
  • New Subscription: Even though you have a new Instant Ink account, the leftover cartridges may still be associated with the previous account, so they won’t work under the new subscription.

To resolve this:

  • Pay the Outstanding Balance: You may need to pay off the remaining balance of your old Instant Ink subscription to unlock the leftover cartridges.
  • Use the New Ink: Once your new subscription starts, you will need to use the new cartridges that come with it. These will be automatically activated when they arrive.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
