My printer is 2 1/2  years old and is not printing properly.   I was trying to clean the print heads and saw under the printheads on the right resting place is full of ink.   Is this normal?  I've tried cleaning the print heads multiple times and it doesn't seem to work.

That is normal, the more you clean the more waste ink is collected on the right side.

Thanks so much for your response.  I was wondering if I should try and clean the printheads or just trash it becuase of that puddle.  I will definitely try and clean the heads now.

You will hardly get a 100% good print if there is a puddle of ink that signs the printer was used a lot or the printhead cleaned a lot, you will probably waste time and ink on printhead cleaning. Don't force printhead cleaning, leave it overnight printhead to rest, if you force it you will damage the printhead.
